Winter Garden Specials 

On Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd March we hosted our Winter Garden Specials at Ellicar Gardens to help raise money for the British Red Cross earth quake appeal. Around 180 people showed up over the two days where all the proceeds from the gate, refreshments and snowdrop sales were in aid of the Syrian and Turkey earthquake victims.

Despite the cold weather we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all our visitors who helped to raise an amazing £1680 for the Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal and £121 for our local hedgehog rescue centre. 

Visitors were able to explore our winter garden, sit & relax beside our natural swimming pool, enjoy a cup of artisan coffee and slice of delicious home baked cake served in our rose garden, and say hello to our friendly Golden Guernsey goats.

Winter Garden Tour

For those who were interested in winter garden plants and how to make your garden even more wildlife friendly, we put on a ‘Winter Garden Walkabout’ for a £5.00 donation to the appeal. 

There was plenty to see this time of year as guests explored our winter garden with hellebores, snowdrops and fragrant winter flowering shrubs, and enjoy swathes of coloured cornus stems, glowing amongst ornamental willows. Specimen trees such as snake bark and paper bark maples, ghostly white ornamental birches and flowering winter cherries.
