Wildlife Pond

Watch your garden come alive

About

Sarah Murch

A biologically filtered pond is a magnet for wildlife.

Whether a small pond in your back garden or something lake-sized surrounded by meadows, it’s the perfect place for you to unwind and relax. And provides much-needed habitat for an abundance of wildlife. Enjoy spotting different species as they visit your wildlife pond and watch your garden quickly come alive as the ecosystem develops.

With our knowledge of water filtration, experience with water plants, love of wildlife and enthusiasm for ecological planting schemes around the water's edge, we design and install the perfect wildlife pond in your garden, bringing you pleasure all year round.

Benefits

What are the benefits of a wildlife pond?

Beautiful all year and changes with the seasons like a garden

The swimming zone and regeneration areas are separated by low submerged walls leaving you plenty of space to enjoy clear, hygienic, living water without the need for chemicals.

The water appears effortlessly natural by a carefully planned hydraulic system hard at work below the surface circulating the water through biological and mineral filters, ensuring it’s hygienic and fit for swimming all year round.

The result is a balanced pool, with water that feels like a mountain lake close to its source: soft, sparkling and with an energy that’s both rejuvenating and relaxing. And just like your garden, natural pools change with the seasons, giving you a still, reflective surface in winter which is where they get their name, sky mirrors.

Maintenance

cleaning a natural pool

What maintenance is involved with a wildlife pond?

Customer maintenance

In autumn, leaves need to be removed using a net, and in winter, the water plants are cut back and dead foliage removed.

Professional servicing

Cost: c. £800 per 100m2 pond plus travel

Each winter, our pond maintenance team services your wildlife pond. We cut back the water plants, clean and vacuum the pond and service the pumps and filters. We also test and analyse your pond’s fill water to ensure it’s balanced.

Once every 4-5 years, your pond requires a full service. The pond is drained in winter, deep aquatic areas are thoroughly cleaned, oxygenators replanted and water plants are cut back, ensuring your pond remains in good health with crystal clear water.

We offer a summer visit and consultation service where we check your pond during the growing season and monitor plant growth.
