Our clients dreamed of a heated pool without the harsh chemicals. Our Living Pool was the perfect answer – pure, biologically filtered water, heated up to 28°C from March to November, and covered when not in use for effortless cleanliness and safety.

We designed an 18m x 4m pool, 2m deep – ideal for diving and perfect for large family gatherings. Nestled within a walled garden, the pool sits opposite a striking pool house that acts as the hub for outdoor living, complete with gym, lounge, kitchen, and sauna. Discreetly tucked behind the pool house, the filtration system and air source heat pump remain out of sight.

The pool mirrors the footprint of the building, creating beautiful symmetry. From every angle, the view takes in clear, rippling water edged with soft planting – swaying grasses, irises, and lythrum that feel natural and serene. Pocket planting in the paving enhances the connection between house and water.

Simplicity and elegance define this pool. Instead of a visible ladder, we added submerged steps with matching sandstone copings. A Graphite Grey liner lifts the water’s colour, creating a lighter, more contemporary feel.

At one end, a large pergola offers shelter for alfresco dining and spontaneous BBQs. A sun-deck, ideal for lounging, cleverly conceals the biological filtration system below, with access hatches hidden within the deck design. A second smaller deck hides the automatic, below-ground Roldeck pool cover, finished in aluminium-look for sleek efficiency and thermal insulation. The result? A spotless, temperature-controlled pool with low-maintenance ease – thanks to a programmed pool robot that handles cleaning daily.

We also designed and landscaped the wider garden. A simple rectangular lawn is framed by deep, L-shaped borders filled with loose, naturalistic planting: cornus and white birch for winter colour, evergreens for structure and privacy, and a joyful mix of perennials – rudbeckia, echinacea, helenium – and spring bulbs that bring the garden to life throughout the year.

This is more than a pool – it’s an aspirational outdoor sanctuary, where clean water, beautiful design, and seamless functionality come together for year-round enjoyment.
